Titanic Solid Sterling Silver Hallmarked 1912 Museum Worthy Menu Stands Holders - £29,599 GBP
This fascinating set belongs in a museum! I have never seen anything like it!
The date letter is ‘m’ for 1912 which is the year that the Titanic set sail and sank.
I believe these could have been made for use onboard the iconic vessel however I highly doubt that they ever made it onto the ship.
This could possibly be because they were made before the Titanic sank in April 1912 with the thought that they could be used on a second voyage (which never happened) or made before the ship set of but had a change in design to the menu holders actually used onboard.
They could also be a spare set commissioned or were produced too late to make it onboard.
I have many theories however none of them are proven so please don’t purchase based on my personal ideology.
I am not sure what they are but I believe them to be something very special.
They are truly fascinating and are a bargain price if more provenance can be obtained.
